The SS Encinitas and the SS Moonlight are not your run-of-the-mill [boat houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folly-fair-hill). Built from the ground up using [salvaged materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kennedy-model), the sister-ship houses have not moved from their location since they were built in the late 1920s.

The two houses are 15 feet tall and pack a combined space of 2,190 square feet. And though they might not have ever been real boats, they come pretty close to mimicking their seaworthy cousins with things like plaster hulls, [portholes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-mile-harbor) and a galley.
