This becomes a compliment to designer Marc R, given that it's the first example that many people will have see of such a [convenient gardening accessory](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whimsical-watering-can). The Quirky product is, in fact, a simple one, yet this observation should not take away from its cleverness. The contraption comprises a durable plastic frame that houses an [expandable canvas sack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elio). You can store the collapsed canister in a narrow slot in your cupboard because it flattens to under an inch in thickness. When it's time to give [your planters a sprinkle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere) of H2O, just hold the Squish Watering Can by its handle, pull out the spout and fill it with one gallon of liquid from the sink so that it bulges to full capacity. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Collapsible Gardening Accessories:** The Squish Watering Can's collapsible design presents an opportunity for creating more collapsible gardening accessories, such as shovels and hoes. - **Space-saving Tools & Storage Solutions:** Designing tools and storage solutions that can collapse, as seen with the Squish Watering Can, presents an opportunity to create space-saving products. - **Convenient Household Items:** Designing household items with collapsible designs, such as the Squish Watering Can, presents an opportunity for creating more convenient products like collapsible baskets and storage boxes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gardening Supplies:** The collapsible design of the Squish Watering Can can be applied to other gardening accessories, creating space-saving and convenient tools for professional gardeners and home garden enthusiasts. - **Home Organization & Storage:** Designing household items with collapsible designs like the Squish Watering Can presents an opportunity for creating space-saving storage solutions such as collapsible hampers, closets, and storage bins. - **Outdoor Recreation & Adventure:** Creating collapsible outdoor gear and accessories like the Squish Watering Can presents an opportunity for creating lightweight and convenient camping gear that can be easily transported. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Compact Portable Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-rack-2.md) - [Compact Canned Houseplants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trader-joes-mini-can-foliage.md) - [Spherical Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-basil-selfwatering-globe.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md)
