Weggen sets up simple props and waits for the squirrels to come and go and interact with whatever trinkets he has left for them to play with. In some of his work, Weggen has utilized things like umbrellas, pumpkins and scissors as props for his unique photo series. Weggen only uses Photoshop to eliminate wires that he used to hold things up, as well as food used to lure in his [furry friends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pawfoto). Weggen acknowledged that he gets bored easily when faced with a very repetitive task. When taking these squirrel photographs however, Weggen has yet to get tired of it and has found new ways to capture them through new props, or simply documenting their [backyard explorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-nature-observatory). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Whimsical Animal Photography:** Incorporating whimsical elements into animal photography can create unique and captivating visuals. - **Backyard Animal Interaction:** Photographing wildlife interactions in a backyard setting offers opportunities to capture authentic and intimate moments. - **Creative Use of Props:** Using props creatively in animal photography allows for playful and imaginative compositions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Photographers can explore new techniques and styles by incorporating whimsical elements and props into their work. - **Nature Conservation:** Documenting wildlife interactions in residential areas can promote awareness and appreciation for local ecosystems. - **Visual Arts:** Artists can draw inspiration from the creative use of props in photography to explore unique ways of storytelling and self-expression. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Functional Gingerbread Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gingerbread-camera.md) - [Smart Hummingbird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/feathersnap-hummingbird-feeder.md) - [Pet-Taken Camera Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartography.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Canadian Animal-Themed Kitchenware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/our-animals-maple-syrup-jar.md) - [Targeted Bird Seed Blends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cool-birds.md) - [Bird-Inspired Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdinspired-speaker.md) - [Stealthy Smart Garden Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonder-block.md) - [Whimsical Gnome Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-gnome-on-the-roam.md)
