# Pluckable iPad Apps The Squiggle App from Henry Chu Turns Your iPad into an Electronic Harp By Michael Hines | Published 2010-05-06 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squiggle-app References: [fastcompany](http://www.fastcompany.com/1634812/squiggle-turns-ipad-into-a-pluckable-21st-century-harp) & [pillandpillow](http://www.pillandpillow.com/pill/) The Squiggle app has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen from the iPad. This app has you drawing musical lines on your iPad to create a harp. You tilt the iPad to play the harp and flip it over to clear the screen. I knew the iPad could do many things, but I never thought it could become a harp. The designer of the Squiggle app, Henry Chu, is one smart cookie. Out-of-the-box apps like this are what makes me want to purchase an iPad. Check out the video to see the Squiggle app in action. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Music Apps:** Apps that enable users to create music through interactive experiences. - **Electronic Instrument Simulators:** Simulators that allow users to replicate the sound and feel of traditional instruments using electronic interfaces. - **Visual Music Creation:** Apps that use visual cues to facilitate music creation and expression. ### Who This Affects Most - **Education Technology:** Utilizing digital tools to engage students in multimedia content creation with music applications. - **Gaming:** Exploring potential crossover of music and gaming for interactive entertainment experiences. - **Music and Audio Technologies:** Innovating and creating new technologies specifically for audio production and electronic instrument simulation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Guitar Pickups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-guitar-pickups.md) - [Color-To-Sound Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gradient-synth.md) - [AR-Fueled Musical Camera Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minibeats.md) - [Creative Infinite Whiteboard Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freeform-app.md) - [Multifunctional Music Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chorda.md) - [Doodling Mental Health Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scribble-journey-app.md) - [AI-Fueled Digital Art Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawww.md) - [Instrumental Music Creation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-1.md) - [Tactile Interactive Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yamaha.md)
