This [rooftop penthouse apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jz-apartment) takes up the two top floors, and features square-shaped design elements and home decor built in throughout. Made over in a mostly minimalist design, with white floors and dark wood floors, this cleanly colored penthouse has several spaces that are opened up to both floors for a increased feeling of space. Floor to ceiling windows allow for both a spectacular view and plenty of natural light, while a separate outdoor pool area is a perfect space for getting some fresh air. Square-inspired repeating patterns on the walls and ceilings add touches of decoration throughout the penthouse, and can even be seen in many of the built-in lighting fixtures as well to nicely finish off the overall theme. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Square-inspired Minimalism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop products and designs that incorporate square-shaped elements and minimalistic aesthetics. - **Open Floor Plan:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create flexible and convertible spaces that can be opened up to enhance the feeling of space in urban dwellings. - **Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design innovative solutions that seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor areas, such as rooftop pools and outdoor living spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Redesign interior spaces to incorporate square-inspired minimalistic elements and create a sense of openness. - **Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate square-shaped design elements and open floor plans into urban architecture to maximize space efficiency and aesthetics. - **Home Decor and Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop square-patterned decor and lighting fixtures that align with the minimalist square aesthetics trend. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Staircase Penthouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frederic-chopin.md) - [Japanese-Inspired Elevated Pied-à-Terres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piedterre.md) - [Bathroom-Centric Dubai Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-studio.md) - [Skyline-Inspired Elegant Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obliqo.md) - [Refined Modern Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Modern Panoramic View Penthouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panorama-penthouse.md) - [Slatted Wooden Suburban Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-slatted-house.md) - [Pyramid-Like Suburban Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oza-sabbeth-architects.md)
