"Tired of having your NRA buddies laugh at you for not having any shotguns on the wall? These collections of toy squirt guns arranged on a square panel, with some pointing out, are incredibly unique, very colorful, and great conversation pieces." - Jellio.com **Implications** - The idea of art being made on a flat surface is an old idea that people are starting to move away from. More modern pieces such as the featured suirtgun art is three-dimensional and features actual squirtguns that you can hold in your hands. A shift towards modernism is not only seen in art but also in many other areas such as fashion, technology and home furnishings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Three-dimensional Art:** The trend towards creating art that is three-dimensional offers disruptive innovation opportunities for artists, designers, and architects to explore new forms and mediums. - **Modern Home Decor:** The trend towards modern home decor presents opportunities in the furniture, lighting, and decor industries to create innovative pieces that break away from traditional designs. - **Playful Nostalgia:** The trend towards incorporating nostalgic and playful elements in design presents opportunities for companies to create unique and memorable products that tap into consumers' emotions and sense of fun. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art:** The art industry can benefit from the trend towards three-dimensional and interactive art, creating new opportunities for artists to push boundaries and showcase their creativity. - **Home Furnishings:** The trend towards modern home decor presents opportunities for furniture companies to create innovative and design-forward pieces that appeal to younger, style-conscious consumers. - **Toy and Game:** The trend towards incorporating playful and nostalgic elements in design presents opportunities for toy and game companies to create new products that tap into consumers' sense of nostalgia and bring back classic designs in new ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shooting Target Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clockwerk-target-clocks.md) - [Anti-Gun Water Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antigun-water-toys-jayhayspray20-promotes-change-in-societys-relationship-w.md) - [Colorful Retro Pixel Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror.md) - [Wall Art Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/justin-case.md) - [Customizable Kids Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodleface.md) - [Vertical Drinking Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-pong.md) - [Contemporary Art Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-art-building-set.md) - [Americana Subculture-Themed Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bullet-proof.md) - [Retro Jelly Mold-Inspired Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jelly-mirror.md)
