As its direct name gives away, it doubles as both a [stool and a side table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loki-stool). Nevertheless, it can easily be used as a plant holder, shelf and more. The minimalist silhouette allows the furniture piece to perform [various duties without looking strange](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sisto) and out of place while doing them. Designed by Sputnik, a design studio based in Valencia, Italy, and run by Majo Fernández, María de la O Reyna, María Salar and Borja Sepulcre, the Sputnik Stool and Table was recently exhibited along with other pieces from their latest collection during the Habitat Valencia Fair. It is made out of [lacquered steel and cork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kidou). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Opportunity to create more simple yet versatile furniture pieces for space-maximizing individuals. - **Cork Materials:** Opportunity to explore and innovate with the eco-friendly and unique properties of cork as a material for furniture-making. - **Minimalist Design:** Opportunity to embrace clean, simple designs that can serve multiple purposes and blend in seamlessly with any interior style. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity to create new lines of multi-functional furniture that cater to small-space living and eco-conscious consumers. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to incorporate more versatile and eco-friendly furniture pieces into home and office spaces without sacrificing style and aesthetics. - **Sustainable Materials:** Opportunity to explore and promote the use of environmentally-friendly materials like cork and steel in furniture-making for a more eco-conscious industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Chrome Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cork-collection.md) - [Sustainable Colorful Multifunctional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superpop.md) - [Stackable Cork-Like Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drum-stool-1.md) - [Stackable Cork-Made Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-cork-seating.md) - [Cork-Made Occasional Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-tk.md) - [Recycled Aluminum Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joy-stool-one.md) - [Transforming Stool-Integrated Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quartet-side-table.md) - [Active Sitting Cork Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ylin-stool.md) - [Stylish Storage-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basso-side-table.md)
