# Key-Hiding Sprinklers The Hide-a-Key Sprinkler Head Disguises Itself as an Irrigation System By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-05-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sprinkler-head References: [dudeiwantthat](http://www.dudeiwantthat.com/household/security/spiked-sprinkler-head-hide-a-key.asp) & [amzn](http://www.amzn.com/B013XC7APY/?tag=duiwath-20) Keeping a spare key outside of the home is great for emergencies but bad for security, so the Hide-a-Key Sprinkler Head is designed to make hiding a key more stealth. Designed to look like a sprinkler that would be part of a larger irrigation system, the device features a small hidden section that can hold keys or other small essentials. The spiked bottom section of the device makes it easy to place into the ground and remove, while the disguised design will ensure would-be burglars are none the wiser. The Hide-a-Key Sprinkler Head features a locking capsule head that is moisture-proof and virtually indestructible to make it suitable to leave outside year-round. Moreover, the device is crafted from the same material that actual sprinkler heads are made from, which will allow it to blend in to existing sprinkler systems seamlessly. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Disguised Security Devices:** Opportunity for companies to develop more innovative ways to hide security devices in everyday objects for better home security. - **Weatherproof Outdoor Products:** Opportunity for companies to create more durable and moisture-proof products for outdoor use, expanding their customer base to those in need of weather-resistant items. - **Inconspicuous Home Gadgets:** Opportunity for companies to design more home gadgets that blend in with common household items, such as this sprinkler head key holder, to help prevent theft and keep homes safe. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Security:** Companies in the home security industry may want to explore creating hidden products to provide customers with ease of mind and additional security. - **Outdoor Products:** Companies that design outdoor products may want to incorporate weather-resistant materials and features in order to appeal to a wider range of customers. - **Home Gadgets:** Companies producing household gadgets may want to consider designing inconspicuous items that blend in with common house items, providing extra home security and convenience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Makeup-Hiding Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elfs-cosmetic-security-line.md) - [Hidden Seat Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockinvisible.md) - [Spherical Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-basil-selfwatering-globe.md) - [Naturalistic Outdoor Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/focal-littora-200-od-stone-8.md) - [Smart Lock Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robern-iq-digital-lock-box.md) - [Novel Home Security Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-security-concept.md) - [Adaptable Key Lock Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advanced-rekey.md) - [Keychain EDC Tool Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crkt-pocket-driver-stash-tool.md) - [Anti-Theft Car Immobilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antitheft1.md)
