# Twee Twiggy Garden Jugs The Spring Watering Can Takes Formal Cues from the Organisms it Nourishes By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-07-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spring-watering-can References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2012/07/Spring-watering-can.html) & [smool.nl](http://www.smool.nl/design/interior-products/goods-spring/) If I could start fresh and afford it, every object in my home would be made with the same clever functionality and imaginative form as the Spring Watering Can. It is an utter delight to look at, and I'm sure, an absolute pleasure to use. Different from the conventional shape of the flower bed douser, Robert Bronwasser's design has no immediately recognizable spout or handgrip and it takes the unusual [conical silhouette of a scientific flask](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection). Viewing it from the top reveals that the [two tree branch-like offshoots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aghsan) of the pitcher have open ends, enabling them to receive H2O from the faucet and dispense it as well. The Smool and Goods Spring Watering Can can be held by one of these soft boughs or gripped around the neck of the bottle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Unique Watering Can Designs:** Opportunity for manufacturers to create innovative and visually appealing watering cans with unconventional shapes. - **Functional Home Decor:** Emerging trend of household objects with clever functionality and imaginative forms, providing an opportunity for designers to create delightful and practical products. - **Nature-inspired Product Design:** Growing trend of incorporating natural elements like branches and scientific flask shapes into everyday products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home and Garden:** Opportunity for home and garden product manufacturers to capitalize on the demand for unique and functional items that enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces. - **Design and Home Decor:** Ongoing innovation in the design industry for creating functional and visually pleasing household items that serve as both practical tools and decorative pieces. - **Consumer Goods:** Opportunity for consumer goods companies to tap into the trend of nature-inspired product designs, appealing to consumers seeking unique and aesthetically pleasing objects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Compact Canned Houseplants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trader-joes-mini-can-foliage.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Branch-Like Umbrella Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aghsan.md) - [Quirky Toilet Brushes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stylish-toilet-brush.md) - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md)
