The architects explain that their biggest challenge was conceiving of such a large program given the limitations of the site. They solved this dilemma by dividing the home into a series of [interconnected volumes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b2a-architects) that not only communicate between themselves, but also have a relationship with the surrounding landscape, creating "intimate connections between the [golf course and the living spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ski-house)." The home manages to service the client's wish for a modern aesthetic whilst adhering to the community's demands, such as the requirement that there be [sloped roofs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof). The main volume features a gabled roof at the required slope, as well as four shed roof legs at the negotiated lesser slope. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Connected Volumes:** Creating intimate connections between different spaces within a property through interconnected volumes. - **Landscape Integration:** Designing homes with a relationship to the surrounding landscape, fostering a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Modern Aesthetic with Constraints:** Balancing the client's desire for a modern aesthetic with existing community demands or restrictions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Innovating designs for large properties by exploring interconnected volumes and integrating them with the surrounding landscape. - **Real Estate:** Developing properties that prioritize landscape integration and offer intimate connections between indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Construction:** Finding innovative solutions to meet client demands for a modern aesthetic while adhering to local regulations and construction requirements. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Temple-Inspired Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/j-kidman-architecture.md) - [Upward-Pitched Roof Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oneill-mcvoy-architects.md) - [Blocky Courtyard Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-courtyards.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove.md) - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md) - [Organic Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diachok-architects.md) - [Pyramid-Like Suburban Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oza-sabbeth-architects.md) - [Monolithic Sleek Summer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollerup-atrium.md) - [Monolithic Metal-Formed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summerville-house.md)
