# Old School Earbud Abodes The Spooled Cable Organizer Keeps Your Buds from Getting Crushed By Michael Hines | Published 2011-11-21 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spooled-cable-organizer References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/spooled-by-the-other-edge-design/) & [theotheredge](http://www.theotheredge.com/) I definitely wouldn't destroy headphones at such a rapid rate if I had the Spooled Cable Organizer. The Spooled Cable Organizer is a simple device designed to safely store your earbuds when they're not in use. The Spooled Cable Organizer was created by The Other Edge Design and is modeled off of a thread spool. To use, simply wind your [earbuds around the spool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cords), tucking the buds themselves into the center. This design may seem simple and unnecessary, but it's only when you stop and think about the amount of earbuds you've accidentally destroyed or lost that its awesomeness becomes apparent.
