In an uncommon production choice, an industrial design student uses a Spirograph to create common household items.

Shawn Yang created a large version of the Spirograph toy to design these items and creates 3D versions of 2D images. Called "The Spirograph Lab," this device can create home accessories such as lampshades, candle holders, bowls and plates. The products are created with a cog that is attached to a container filled with liquid resin via magnets. When the motor is switched on, the cog spins around the container and "shoots resin in a corresponding pattern of concentric circles."

The creations produced by this peculiar contraption allow for the user to customize unique designs for the decorative accents in their home.
