# Coiling Storage Spaces The Spiral Shelf by Argue is Inspired by Disorderly Routines By Matt Ho | Published 2011-02-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spiral-shelf References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2011/02/09/spiral-shelf-by-argue-design.php) & [arguedesign.se](http://www.arguedesign.se/) Remember how much your parents hated it when you threw your jacket on the hook only to have it land on the floor? The Spiral Shelf by Argue Design actually encourages that. The Swedish company created the Spiral Shelf after being inspired by the disorderly behavior of [throwing clothes on racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velto). In fact, according to their website, Argue Design "embraces the chaotic beauty of layers of unfolded clothes." The shelf is made out of [coiled metal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1), so it can be used to hold [small items](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozey). It's a great concept that is guaranteed to encourage more unfolded laundry. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Disorderly Design:** Opportunity for innovative products that embrace chaotic and disorganized aesthetics. - **Functional Simplicity:** Potential for minimalist designs that prioritize functionality over neatness. - **Unconventional Storage:** Room for unconventional storage solutions that challenge traditional organization methods. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Opportunity for furniture designers and retailers to create and market products that cater to consumers seeking unique and disorderly design elements. - **Interior Design:** Potential for interior designers to incorporate disorderly design concepts into their projects, offering clients unconventional and visually interesting storage solutions. - **Product Design:** Room for product designers to explore and develop functional and aesthetically pleasing storage solutions that embrace disorder and encourage personalization. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Discreet Folding Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf.md) - [Folding Steel Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf.md) - [Modular Contemporary Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv.md) - [Sporty Climbing-Inspired Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grip-hanger.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Simple Assembly Sustainable Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/svolta.md) - [Modular Grid-Style Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bend-shelf-by-spenser-atlas.md)
