The goal of the Spiga Bookcase is rather different, embracing the tendency of paperbacks to tip over and cause inconsistent patterns of haphazard diagonals. The storage system by Enzyma takes it upon itself to tilt the reading materials that it holds. An ascending series of L-shaped ledges gradually rotate, allowing hardcovers, [magazines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skola), DVDs and video games to rest comfortably in inclined orientations. To enhance the whimsicality of the Spiga Bookcase, the [narrow wood and ABS unit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelving-unit-01) can be finished in a muted gray hue with its edges accented by a punchy color. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Inclined Bookshelves:** Designing bookshelves with built-in inclinations to accommodate the natural tendency of books to tip over, creating a whimsical and unique storage solution. - **Rotating Ledges:** Creating shelving systems with ascending L-shaped ledges that gradually rotate, providing convenient and comfortable resting positions for various reading materials. - **Whimsical Furniture:** Designing furniture pieces like the Spiga Bookcase that incorporate playful elements and unique color accents to add a touch of whimsy to home decor. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturing companies specializing in furniture can explore the production of incline bookshelves and rotating ledge systems, offering customers innovative and functional storage options. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate inclined bookshelves and rotating ledge systems into their designs, providing clients with a unique and playful storage solution that adds character to any space. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can stock and sell whimsical furniture pieces like the Spiga Bookcase, appealing to customers who prefer unconventional and eye-catching storage solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Bookish Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimal-bookshelf.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Modular Configuration Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repisa-01.md) - [Dynamic Architecturally Strong Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dogma.md) - [Speaker-Inspired Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lloyd-tex.md)
