The app is also available for Android devices and it allows users to test the performance and the speed of their WiFi connectivity and cellular networks. Users have the ability to get stats on upload and download speed, latency and packet losses. The Speed Test app is a part of the [FCC's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-technologies) Measuring Broadband America program. The program aims at improving the broadband service in the United States. Users who use the app are helping the FCC crowdsource data on mobile network performance levels. We all want fast and efficient smartphones so this is a great way to know whether you are doing everything possible in order to keep your phone running as quickly and as smoothly as possible. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Measurable Broadband Performance:** The FCC's Speed Test app allows users to test the performance and speed of their WiFi and cellular networks, providing valuable data for improving broadband service. - **Crowdsourced Network Performance Data:** The FCC's Speed Test app collects crowd-sourced data on mobile network performance levels, creating opportunities for improving network infrastructure and service. - **Enhancing Smartphone Efficiency:** The Speed Test app enables users to gauge the speed and performance of their phones, helping them optimize their devices for a faster and smoother experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Telecommunications:** The FCC's Speed Test app presents opportunities for telecommunication companies to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance network performance. - **Mobile Technology:** The Speed Test app provides insights for smartphone manufacturers and developers to optimize device performance and ensure a seamless user experience. - **Data Analytics:** The crowd-sourced data from the Speed Test app opens up opportunities for data analytics companies to analyze and interpret network performance trends, leading to data-driven insights for network optimizations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Internet Speed-Monitoring Hardware Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speedtest-pulse.md) - [GPS Speedometer Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-speed-test.md) - [Cable Quality Diagnostic Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usb-startup-diagnostics.md) - [Telecom Connectivity Speed Boosts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comcast-xfinity-speed.md) - [Stolen Art-Tracking Mobile Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/national-stolen-art-file.md) - [Ultra-Speedy Internet Packages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sky-broadband-gigafast.md) - [App Performance Optimization Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-speedster.md) - [Ultra-Fast 5G Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/5g-cpe.md) - [High-Speed Wi-Fi Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-technologies.md)
