Conceived by [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wnd-helmet) Josiah Ng, the Spectacam helmet camera attaches on via [Velcro](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rockbros-bike-sweat-guard) and automatically records onto the smartphone after the app is downloaded. While recording, the phone, which is secured onto the front of the bike, displays what the camera is recording in front and behind the cyclist simultaneously, but can be adjusted to any other angle the user wishes. This helmet camera is great for safety on the busy streets, but also for those who want to capture the beautiful sites on their brisk ride around town. Compatible with [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icam-pro-concept) or Android products, the Spectacam has an approximate battery life of three hours, is lightweight, water-resistant and comes with a built-in microphone to capture any sounds or dialogue in case any confrontations arise. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Transportation](https://www.trendhunter.com/transportation) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Helmet Camera Technology:** Opportunity for further development and improvement of helmet cameras to enhance safety and capture experiences for cyclists. - **Smartphone Integration:** Potential for integrating helmet cameras with smartphones to provide real-time recording and adjustable viewing angles for cyclists. - **Safety Innovations for Cyclists:** Continued focus on developing innovative safety solutions for cyclists, such as helmet cameras, to improve road safety. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Sports Technology:** Opportunity for companies in the sports technology industry to develop and market helmet cameras specifically designed for cyclists. - **Consumer Electronics:** Potential for consumer electronics companies to manufacture and sell helmet cameras that integrate seamlessly with smartphones. - **Cycling Accessories:** Scope for businesses in the cycling accessories industry to offer helmet cameras as a safety and recording option for cyclists. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Light-Equipped Cyclist Dash Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-dash-cam.md) - [Camera-Equipped Smart Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yashica-x-im-back-virtusx1.md) - [Bike-Mounted Cyclist Safety Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyclist-camera.md) - [Camera-Equipped Smart Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relee-m1-helmet.md) - [Camera-Equipped Motorcyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forcite-mk1s-smart-helmet.md) - [Dual-Lens Motorcyclist Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorsports-dual-dash-cam.md) - [Cycling Performance Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyclehud.md) - [4k Camera-Integrated Cycling Headlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cycling-headlight.md) - [Intercom-Equipped Motorcyclist Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorcycle-camera.md)
