# Autopsy Dioramas 'Specimen Box No 1 Specimen No 98: Gork' by Specimen 7 is Sorta Creepy By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2010-01-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/specimen-no-98-gork References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=24640357) & [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/pages/Specimen-7/72451061656#/pages/Specimen-7/72451061656?v=info) Autopsies in general bug me out, but the extraterrestrial autopsy diorama sold by [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) artisan Specimen 7 called 'Specimen Box No 1 Specimen No 98: Gork' is beyond words. The shop's schtick is that they purchased these items from Charles Ellis' second wife's estate. The aforementioned Specimen No 98: Gork is an unfinished autopsy inside a cigar box. Charming! Check out more shots of Gork above, and keep clicking for other [odd dioramas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-mart-chucky) and [extraterrestrial art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-vases). **Implications** - During the sale of Mrs. Edna Lee Ellis' estate, who passed in 2008, thousands of preserved bodies were found in the basement. While much of her husband Charles' research is popularly conceived as a hoax, there is no explanation for these eerie and shiver-inducing findings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Autopsy Dioramas:** There is a growing trend of creating and selling autopsy dioramas, which provide a unique and creepy form of artistic expression. - **Extraterrestrial Art:** Artists are exploring the concept of extraterrestrial beings through their artwork, creating unique and otherworldly pieces. - **Preserved Bodies:** The discovery of thousands of preserved bodies in Mrs. Edna Lee Ellis' basement highlights a disturbing trend of collecting and preserving human remains. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can embrace the trend of autopsy dioramas and extraterrestrial art, providing opportunities for artists and collectors alike. - **Forensic Science:** The field of forensic science can utilize autopsy dioramas as an innovative tool for education and training purposes. - **Museum and Exhibition:** Museums and exhibitions can capitalize on the fascination with preserved bodies by showcasing them in ethical and educational ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hyper-Realistic Flesh Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito.md) - [Anatomical Plush Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-skull-with-hidden-organs.md) - [Intricate Resin Hand-Painted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snh003.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Interactive Monster Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smashers-horror-house.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Creepy Severed Hand Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wednesday-thing.md) - [Human Body Discovery Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultimate-squishy-human-body.md) - [Fashionable Zombie Dolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zombaes-critter-chaos.md)
