The studio partnered with an Illinois-based no-kill shelter called 'Homeward Bound,' to design a [feline-friendly yoga class](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-yoga). The unique class was intended to provide a new way for patrons to meet and interact with adoptable felines. For many people interested in adopting a new pet, shelters can be a depressing and heart-breaking place. To combat the negative shelter experience, Homeward Bound organized a yoga class where six adoptable felines were free to roam and interact with patrons throughout the session. As Homeward Bound volunteer Jeanette Skaluba explains, "by taking the cats to something like a yoga class, people have the opportunity see and interact with them outside the shelter." The class was a success and helped the shelter to raise more than $500. One enthusiastic yogi was so enthralled by the special yoga session that she even adopted a kitten. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Feline-friendly Yoga:** An emerging trend where yoga classes are organized to allow adoptable cats to roam and interact with participants, providing a unique and delightful experience for cat lovers. - **Animal Shelter Collaboration:** A trend in which yoga studios collaborate with animal shelters to organize special classes that help promote adoption and raise funds for the shelters. - **Enhancing Pet Adoption Experiences:** A trend focused on creating positive and engaging experiences for potential pet adopters, such as organizing yoga classes where participants can interact with adoptable animals. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Yoga Studios:** Yoga studios can capitalize on the feline-friendly yoga trend by organizing special classes that allow adoptable cats to interact with participants, attracting cat-loving yoga enthusiasts. - **Animal Shelters:** Animal shelters can explore collaborations with yoga studios to organize feline-friendly yoga classes as a unique way to showcase adoptable cats and raise funds for their organizations. - **Pet Industry:** The pet industry could benefit from the trend by incorporating feline-friendly yoga sessions into pet-related events, promoting adoption and creating positive experiences for potential pet owners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glam Pet Adoption Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uber-showcats.md) - [Adoptable Cat App Takeovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/date-cats-not-humans.md) - [Pop Star-Themed Animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taylor-swiftthemed-cats.md) - [VR Cat Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vr-cat-experiences.md) - [Immersive Cat Lover Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiskas-purradise.md) - [AI-Enhanced Pet Adoption Photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personality-pics.md) - [Understated NYC Cat Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-parlour.md) - [Cat-Friendly Seat Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jingcyuan-tang.md) - [Cat-Themed Vday Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuddle-collection.md)
