# Tabletop Fireplaces The Speak Fireplace is a Heated Work Desk By Michael Hines | Published 2011-04-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speak-fireplace References: [bornrich](http://www.bornrich.com/entry/a-workstation-with-integrated-fireplace/) & [biofireplace.it](http://www.biofireplace.it/) Working through the winter might not be so bad anymore thanks to the Speak fireplace. The Speak fireplace was created by luxury fireplace manufacturers Biocamino as a way of finally bringing the forbidden desktop fireplace to life. The Speak fireplace features a 3-millimeter ceramic case made by Lea Ceramiche. When winter is over, the hearth can be hidden in the middle of the table so as not to distract you with thoughts of winter during the spring and summer months. The Speak Fireplace has a refined look that should fit well with either [retro or contemporary homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-accessories). The value of a [tabletop fireplace](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-designs) can't be understated as most [work desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leandesk) aren't positioned near the heater (at least not in my house). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Tabletop Fireplaces for Workspaces:** The Speak Fireplace presents an opportunity for companies to innovate on designs that bring warmth and luxury to professional workspaces. - **Multi-functional Decor:** The trend of having functional decor such as the Speak Fireplace can be expanded upon by integrating other pieces of furniture with practical uses. - **Seasonally Versatile Furniture:** The ability to hide the tabletop fireplace for seasonal changes demonstrates an opportunity to create more versatile furniture that caters to different times of the year. ### Where This Applies - **Workplace Productivity:** Innovations like the Speak Fireplace can not only bring warmth and comfort to the office, but also boost employee productivity and satisfaction. - **Interior Design and Home Decor:** The trend of tabletop fireplaces offers an opportunity for companies in the interior design and home decor industries to create unique, multi-functional pieces that add both style and practicality to a space. - **Luxury Home Furnishings:** The Speak Fireplace caters to a luxury market, and presents an opportunity for companies in the luxury home furnishings industry to create high-end, functional decor that appeals to affluent consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mixed-Material Tabletop Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brasscene-harmony-flame-fireplace.md) - [Communal Fireplace Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hearth-coffee-table.md) - [Cooking-Friendly Outdoor Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/regg-surprise.md) - [Dining Table Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tabletop-fire-pit.md) - [Portable Cylindrical Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecosmart-fire-pillar-3t.md) - [Convenient Personal Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-fireplace1.md) - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Flatpack Virtual Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graphene-radiator.md) - [Single-Person Camper Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-peak-takibi-solo.md)
