The film depicts a wonky version of Osaka, Japan in which buildings and roads curve, bend and grow like gnarled tree roots. While the exact shapes and movements in the short film by AUJIK, a mysterious "cult" art group, are virtually impossible in real life, it nonetheless inspires a merger between [nature and urban development](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany). The initial panorama is drab, dark and creepy, however green space and welcoming curves emerge toward the end, suggesting a hopeful future for urban planners. Regardless of whether 'Spatial Bodies' is an attainable vision, it provides an impetus to focus on nature when building man-made structures. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Curved Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the integration of curving and bending structures in urban development. - **Merging Nature and Urban Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Find ways to incorporate green spaces and natural elements into cityscapes. - **Reimagining Urban Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethink traditional urban planning approaches to create more inviting and harmonious environments. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Pioneer the use of unique building shapes and curved designs in architectural projects. - **Urban Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop strategies to integrate nature and green spaces into urban environments. - **Art and Film:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with visual storytelling techniques to inspire new perspectives on urban development. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Futuristic Cultural Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lucas-museum-of-narrative-arts.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Maze-Inspired Performance Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-of-time.md) - [Spiralling Stainless-Steel Cultural Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/010-building.md) - [Sculptural Mall Dreamscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unbounded-sanctuary.md) - [Sculptural Inverted Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof.md) - [Kinetic Interaction Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transmutation-observatory.md) - [Organic Spiral Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasona-natureverse-pavilion.md) - [Colorful Metaverse Cities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metaverse-cities.md)
