This Spanish apartment combines a colorful aesthetic with sculptural appeal and layout functionality. Entitled 'Casa Conxita,' the space is renovated by Escolano + Steegmann. The first noticeable feature of the interior design is its reference to the rooftops of Barcelona. The Spanish apartment boasts orange-colored terracotta tiles, as well as boldly geometric shapes, which are distinctly informed by the architectural style of the city.

Escolano + Steegmann divides the 84-square-meter flat into two — a private space with bedrooms and a large open-plan area that enables social engagement. This arrangement has another purpose, however. By strategically splitting the layout of the Spanish apartment in such a way, Escolano + Steegmann is able "to allow light to travel from one end of the [flat] to the other."
