The Span Rocking Stool has been designed to bring a bit of variety and dynamism to the way that people experience the workplace, keeping employees active and engaged with their surroundings. Jeffrey Koffman was inspired by the [rocking horse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ready-rocker) and aimed to adapt it for use by adults. It comprises a sturdy arc-shaped base and an inverted arc-shaped frame for structural strength and resistance; it's capped with a [circular piece for a seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair). The Span Rocking Stool even integrates a wireframe tray for handy storage. The oscillating perch can be used in a number of different settings and can be sat upon in one of two positions. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dynamic Workspaces:** Designing interactive and versatile workspaces that foster movement and engagement. - **Active Seating:** Developing ergonomic seating solutions that promote physical activity and wellbeing. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Creating furniture designs that combine functionality, comfort, and style in innovative ways. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Office Furniture:** Office furniture manufacturers can disrupt traditional workplace design norms by developing more dynamic and customizable furniture solutions to suit different working styles and preferences. - **Ergonomic Design:** Healthcare professionals and ergonomic design experts can explore the potential of active seating to promote physical activity and better posture, reduce workplace injuries and support overall wellbeing. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate multi-functional furniture designs like the Span Rocking Stool to add experiential and visual interest to commercial and residential spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Active Motion Desk Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-ao-stool.md) - [Rocking Table-Mounted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Pouffe Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/platero.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Sloped Movement Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tippi-chair.md) - [Shapeshifting Spine-Like Work Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spine-chair.md) - [Ultra-Simple Workstation Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/verk-stool.md) - [Sustainable Space-Saving Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-flex-perch-stool.md) - [Playground-Inspired Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-seat.md) - [Active Sitting Cork Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ylin-stool.md)
