# Family-Friendly Scooters The Space Scooter is a New Way for Families to Get Active By Grace Williams | Published 2016-09-28 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-scooter-family-active References: [spacescooter-usa](https://spacescooter-usa.com/) & [spacescooter-usa](https://spacescooter-usa.com/collections/frontpage) The Space Scooter is a fun new way for families to get outside and get active without the need for electric power or gas. With its unique pump-and-go design, the Space Scooter is propelled forward by pushing the board with both feet in a continuous teeter-totter motion—this allows riders to go faster and further than conventional scooters. For riders who don't feel like using the Space Scooter's pump-and-go system, the board can easily be locked into a flat position and used as a traditional kick scooter. The Space Scooter's foldable build also allows for easy storage and transportation. With its award-winning design, the Space Scooter gives families a reason to reconnect outdoors along with a fun—and totally unique—way to travel. The Space Scooter is available in a variety of colors and two size options: a junior model for children four to eight years old and a standard model for those eight years old and up. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Outdoor Family Activities:** The Space Scooter provides a new and exciting way for families to get active and engage in outdoor activities together. - **Non-electric Transportation:** The unique pump-and-go design of the Space Scooter offers a disruptive innovation opportunity for the transportation industry by providing an eco-friendly alternative to electric scooters. - **Foldable Mobility Solutions:** The foldable build of the Space Scooter presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for industries involved in mobility solutions by providing a compact and easily transportable option. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Sports and Recreation:** The Space Scooter's family-friendly design opens up opportunities for the sports and recreation industry to offer new and exciting activities for families. - **Eco-friendly Transportation:** The Space Scooter's non-electric propulsion system presents opportunities for the transportation industry to develop and promote more sustainable transportation options. - **Urban Mobility Solutions:** The foldable design of the Space Scooter provides an innovative solution for the urban mobility industry to offer compact and easily portable transportation options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Self-Balancing Child-Friendly Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/segway-ninebot-s-kids.md) - [Kid-Friendly Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/segway-ninebot-ekickscooter-c2-lite.md) - [Electric Superhero Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-scooter-for-kids.md) - [Two-in-One Kids Scooter Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/childrens-electric-scooter.md) - [Safety-Focused Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t8.md) - [Scooter-Style Pump Foil Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foil-scoot.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Electric Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bustin-boards-skatex.md) - [Folding Seated Scooters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seated-scooter.md) - [Urban Rental Scooter Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-rental-scooter-concept.md)
