# Stop-Motion Album Covers Space Invader Recreates the Classics With Rubik's Cubes By Rachel | Published 2009-06-19 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-invader-rubiks-cube References: [forevergeek](http://www.forevergeek.com/2009/06/video_incredible_rubiks_cube_stop-motion_animation/) & [space-invaders](http://www.space-invaders.com/rubikcubism_.html) Creators of stop-motion movies have a way of continually blowing my mind. This video from Rubikcubism artist [Space Invader](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stellar-works) is no exception. The artist manipulates a box full of Rubik’s cubes into artwork. The stop-motion Rubik’s cube animation by Space Invader shows him creating the classic album covers of [The Beatles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-beatles-x-crocs-classic-clog) and The Clash. As someone who can’t even make one side of a Rubik’s cube a set color, I’m filled with nothing but respect for this video. Check out the short but incredible work of Space Invader above. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Stop-motion Album Covers:** Artists are finding new ways to create album covers, which presents an opportunity for musicians to stand out in a crowded industry. - **Rubikcubism Art:** Rubikcubism is a new trend in art that can be applied in new and interesting ways. - **Hyperrealistic Stop-motion Animation:** Stop-motion animation is becoming more realistic and can be used to create stunning visual experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music:** Musicians can use stop-motion album covers to create unique visuals for their music and connect with fans. - **Art:** Rubikcubism is a new art form that can be applied in various mediums and has potential for disruptive innovation. - **Advertising:** Hyperrealistic stop-motion animation can be used in advertising to create visually stunning and memorable commercials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Impossible Iridescent Puzzle Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubiks-impossible-puzzle-cube.md) - [Interactive Gaming Cubes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubiks-wowcube.md) - [Cube Toy-Inspired Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playcube.md) - [Celebratory Puzzle Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/50th-anniversary-rubiks-cube.md) - [Reimagined Puzzled Artful Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-of-a-woman-in-a-hat.md) - [Desktop GIF Displayers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cyber-cube.md) - [3D-Printed Flip Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stl-sculptures.md) - [Space-Inspired Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koalabrick.md)
