Well, with Remo from [SOZ](http://www.soz.jp/en_index/en_index.html) you can. The Japanese furniture designers [SOZ](http://www.soz.jp/en_index/en_index.html) came up with a new range, Re:mo. The furniture is based on a mini carpenter block than can be assembled in endless different ways and shapes, round, square, irregular; as a bookshelf, chair, table, shoe rack, whatever you can think of, leaving the only limitation to your creativity (and the number of pieces you've got). [SOZ](http://www.soz.jp/en_index/en_index.html) will be opening it's flagship store in Osaka, Japan this spring but until then, you can see the blocks and examples of what can be done at [Musee des Arts decoratifs in Paris](http://www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr) or at the [Museum of Modern Art Store](http://www.moma.org) in New York. If you like doing jigsaws, you are going to love this. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Furniture:** The trend of DIY furniture allows consumers to design and assemble modular furniture according to their preference, creating opportunities for personalized home decor. - **Carpenter Block Designs:** The use of carpenter block designs in furniture offers endless possibilities for creativity and customization, leading to unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. - **Creative Furniture Assembly:** The trend of creative furniture assembly provides an outlet for consumers to express their creativity and design skills through the construction of unique furniture pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can capitalize on the trend of DIY furniture by offering modular furniture kits that allow consumers to design and assemble their own furniture. - **Home Decor Retail:** The home decor retail industry can tap into the demand for carpenter block designs by offering a variety of modular furniture options that can be customized and assembled by the consumers. - **Art and Design Museums:** Art and design museums can showcase and promote the trend of creative furniture assembly by featuring exhibitions or interactive installations that highlight the possibilities and benefits of DIY furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reconfigurable Modular Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gioco.md) - [Reconfigurable Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qbit-furniture.md) - [Interchangeable Cushion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morfius-modular-furniture.md) - [Toy Block-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloc-collection.md) - [Stacked Brick-Like Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-brick-modular-sofa.md) - [Modular Tool-Free Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xylo-living-modular-furniture-system.md) - [Curvaceous Modular Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blocks-modular-sofa.md) - [Storage Box-Transformed Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunks-and-blocks.md) - [Angular Transforming Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optimus-furniture.md)
