Located in Paris is this chic restaurant called Sous les Cerisiers (’under the cherry trees’). Designed by Norwegian designers Ralston & Bau, the interior merges Parisian and Japanese culture. Fitting, because the restaurant combines [Japanese and French food](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/challe-caf).

The interior was designed to be theatrical and took inspiration from [classic opera from Paris](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-cornichon) and [geisha cultures from Japan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fifteen-east). Besides the architectural detailing, scenographic layers, costumes and shadows cast throughout the interior contribute to the theme.
