# Multifunctional Furniture The Sottomon Stool and Side-Table is Perfect for Small Spaces By Meghan Young | Published 2009-11-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sottomon-stool-and-side-table References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2009/11/17/sottoman-stoolside-table-by-courtney-clarke/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/coulcla) I own a pretty small space (my bedroom—yes, I still live at home) so my eye is naturally drawn to multifunctional pieces such as the Sottomon Stool and Side-Table. Not that I’m constantly refurnishing my bedroom--that would be pretty ludicrous. Created by Courtney Clarke, a student at the [Cranbrook Academy of Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haas-brothers-uncanny-valley), the Sottomon Stool and Side-Table features a wooden top when acting as a table, but when flipped over it becomes a comfy, plush seat.
