# Pristine White Eurotecture The Sotogrande House is a Crown Jewel in the Heart of Spain By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sotogrande-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2010/03/27/sotogrande-house-by-a-cero-architects/) & [a-cero](http://www.a-cero.com/) One of the main reasons I traveled to Greece last year was because of the architecture. The blinding white buildings with the colorful rooftops set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean is truly a sight to behold. [Spanish architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-1627) contains many of the same qualities and styles as Greek homes do. The Sotogrande House reminds me of the typical homes found throughout the Greek Islands. Featuring an [ultra modern ivory exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house) and an in-ground slate stone pool, the Sotogrande House is the epitome of southern European elegance. Combining contemporary design with many [traditional villa qualities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-95) is always a winning formula. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mediterranean-inspired Architecture:** Opportunities for architects and builders to incorporate traditional design elements with contemporary innovation. - **White Exterior Trend:** Opportunities for home painters and paint manufacturers to capitalize on the rise of pristine white exteriors in home design. - **Modernized Villa Style:** Opportunities for home designers to incorporate modern technologies and design elements into traditional villa-style homes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architects and builders can incorporate traditional elements while modernizing for a new generation. - **Home Design:** Painters and designers can employ the trend of white exteriors and contemporary design into Mediterranean-inspired homes. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Hotels, resorts, and other tourist-centric businesses can incorporate the trend of modernizing traditional design to appeal to contemporary audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Textural Greek Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/southwand-house.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Coastal-Inspired Home Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-puerto.md) - [Textured Local Stone Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-atrium-house.md) - [Stone Ruin-Upcycled Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atienza-maure-arquitectos.md) - [Minimal White Brick Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-house.md) - [Patio-Centering Villa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-tres-patis.md) - [Panoramic Terraced Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-95.md) - [Floating Level Aesthetic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1.md)
