# Squashed Soaker Tubs The Sorrento Bathtub With Stairs by Victoria and Albert By Meghan Young | Published 2010-02-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sorrento-bathtub References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/004148.html) & [vandabaths](http://www.vandabaths.com/usa/bath.php?b=sorrento) At first, I must admit I thought this tub belonged in a SNL skit of some sort, yet as I read the post, it turns out the Sorrento bathtub not only exists, but is also based on a traditional Japanese soaker tub. Inspired by ofuro tubs, the Sorrento bathtub is deep enough for a full-body soak. Designed by Victoria & Albert, it features solid oak stairs, it is freestanding and can be installed pretty much anywhere. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Deep Soaker Tubs:** Developing innovative deep soaker tubs with unique design features that enhance the bathing experience. - **Traditional Japanese Influences:** Exploring innovative design elements inspired by traditional Japanese soaker tubs to bring a sense of culture and relaxation to modern bath spaces. - **Freestanding Bathtubs:** Creating disruptive innovations in freestanding bathtub designs that offer versatility and the ability to be installed in various locations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bathroom Fixtures:** Opportunities for bathroom fixture manufacturers to develop new product lines of deep soaker tubs with unique design features. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Innovative bathtub designs inspired by traditional Japanese soaker tubs can cater to the luxury home decor market, providing high-end bathing experiences. - **Home Renovation:** Incorporating freestanding bathtubs into home renovation projects can offer homeowners more design flexibility and the ability to create spa-like retreats. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Symmetrical Curved Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victoria-alberts-barcelona-collection.md) - [Japanese Snack Box-Inspired Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bento-starck-box.md) - [Customizable Minimalist Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acquabella-noon-slate.md) - [Rounded Hydromassage Tubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aretusa-tub-by-claudio-papa.md) - [Sophisticated High-Design Bath Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soaking-tub.md) - [High-End Walk-In Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/american-standard.md) - [Removable Bathtub Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathtrope.md) - [Luxe Translucent Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lusso-amore-freestanding-resin-bath.md) - [Malleable Removable Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathtope.md)
