# Baton-Like Ceiling Lamps The Sorenthia Light by Studio Dunn is Beautifully Industrial By Meghan Young | Published 2013-05-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sorenthia-light References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/sorenthia-light-by-studio-dunn) & [studiodunn](http://studiodunn.com/sorenthia-light/) The Sorenthia Light is a sleek and simple ceiling lamp that looks as though it were taken from the hands of a gymnast, or whoever else may be twirling a set of batons. The stick design may be playfully more, but it is also undeniably sophisticated. This is due in large part to the Sorenthia Light's choice of material. Designed by Providence, Rhode Island-based [Studio Dunn](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1), the Sorenthia Light is made out of brass. The shape may look like batons, but it was inspired by the long blades and beaded joints of kelp. Combining the beauty of nature with sharp, industrial lines, a person can configure multiple Sorenthia Lights together for a [customized cluster look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-lighting-fixtures) in the home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sleek Ceiling Lamps:** Opportunity for designing unique and visually appealing ceiling lamps using unconventional materials. - **Playful Stick Designs:** Potential for incorporating whimsical stick designs into various home decor products. - **Nature-inspired Industrial Lighting:** Possibility of combining natural elements with industrial aesthetics in lighting design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Lighting:** Innovation potential in the home lighting industry to create modern and artistic ceiling lamps. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate playful stick designs into their projects. - **Industrial Design:** Exploration of nature-inspired designs in the field of industrial design, particularly in lighting fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Suspended Origami-Like Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-light.md) - [Origami-Inspired Suspended Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-pendant-light.md) - [Shell-Like Structural Wall Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barnacle-wall-sconce.md) - [Horizontal Glass Sphere Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant.md) - [Industrial Contemporary Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shop-light.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Tubular Totem-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i.md)
