# Sophisticated Urban Furniture The Moooi Capsule Collection for Yoo Home is Made for Modern Spaces By Meghan Young | Published 2014-09-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sophisticated-urban-furniture References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/moooi-capsule-collection-yoo-home/) & [homebyyoo](http://www.homebyyoo.com/) The [MOOOI Capsule collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mjlk) is comprised of sophisticated urban furniture that every modern city dweller needs in their home. Not too eclectic and certainly not stuffy, it strikes a great balance between the two for a much-needed dose of personality in the living space. What makes the designs particularly great is that they appear to take into account small spaces, which many young professionals are occupying more and more of late. The sophisticated urban furniture collection is a collaboration between the Dutch brand and YOO Home. Set to debut during London Design Festival 2014, it will be made up of [tables, chairs and lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nycxdesign) designed by such heavyweights as Marcel Wanders, Bertjan Pot, and Danny Fang. Interesting textures, bright hues and atypical silhouettes can be expected. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sophisticated Urban Furniture Collection:** Unique designs and bright hues offer opportunities for disruption in the home goods market. - **Small Space Furniture Design:** Innovation of furniture for small spaces could change the way people design their urban living quarters. - **Collaborative Furniture Design:** Collaborative furniture design could lead to even more creative solutions for modern home decor. ### Where This Applies - **Home Goods:** The MOOOI Capsule Collection is just one example of how creative furniture design could disrupt the home goods industry. - **Interior Design:** Small space furniture design offers a unique opportunity for disruption in the interior design industry. - **Collaborative Design:** Collaborative design in the furniture industry has the potential to lead to more unique and innovative products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Simplistic Fastening Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easystory.md) - [Comfort-Focused Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-collection.md) - [Home Office Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dieffebi.md) - [Technical Minimal Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concav-collection.md) - [Immersive Living Room Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-living-room.md) - [Ultra-Modern Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inaugural-outdoor-furniture-collection.md) - [London Bus-Inspired Modular Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t4-collection.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formfunctional-archifurniture.md) - [Bulbous Artful Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hello-collection.md)
