# Crazy Chromatic Carpets Sonya Winner Designs Graphically Colorful Rugs By Meghan Young | Published 2011-07-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonya-winner References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/sonya-winner/) & [sonyawinner](http://www.sonyawinner.com/) Sonya Winner's colorful carpets are undeniably modern. With its [graphic patterns and hues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/newstalgia-collection), there is something abstract yet purposeful about each rug design. Bold and beautiful, Sonya Winner's rug creations are more than accents -- they provide a great focal point for any room. Hard-wearing and durable, Sonya Winner's carpets are not just for the artistic soul. Instead, her rugs are quite practical as well. Of course, it can't be denied that these [contemporary carpets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massimo-copenhagen) would transform any space while also adding [warmth, texture and vibrancy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/textured-rug-design). In fact, I can easily see Sonya Winner's designs in a modern, minimalist home in which these carpets serve as the only real source of color. What's even better is that each year, Sonya Winner will take on a limited amount of commission work to create something meaningful and unique. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Colorful Carpets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and printing techniques to create even more vibrant and visually stunning carpet designs. - **Graphic Patterns:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop augmented reality solutions that allow customers to visualize how different graphic patterns would look in their own space before making a purchase. - **Commissioned Art Carpets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Build an online platform that connects artists and designers with potential customers for commissioned art carpets, expanding the market and providing a personalized experience. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate smart technologies into carpets, such as integrated sensors for temperature control or programmable color-changing patterns. - **Textiles:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable and eco-friendly materials for carpet manufacturing, reducing the industry's environmental impact. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate virtual reality technology into online shopping experiences, allowing customers to virtually place Sonya Winner's colorful carpets in their own home and visualize the impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mesmerizing Artful Patterned Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electtrico-collection.md) - [Season-Inspired Rug Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistic-rug-range.md) - [Flower-Inspired Vibrant Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espressionismo-floreale.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Vibrant Snake Graphic Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snakes-in-the-grass.md) - [Eye-Catching Designer Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-rug.md) - [Exquisite Textured Rug Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/textured-rug.md) - [Dynamic Bold Graphic Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eley-kishimoto.md) - [Artistic Gen Alpha Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moooi-carpets.md)
