The design was created by Hoang Nguyen and is supposed to use [solar-power](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-solaris) to sustain its functions. During the day, the [gaming system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-pocket-vert) will collect all the light energy it can get, so once the gamer decides to play, there will be enough energy that can last through the night. **Implications** - The Sony Eclipse by Hoang Nguyen is currently only at the conceptual phase of its development, but boy, what a concept it is. Solar power is being used more and more in unconventional ways, and its impact will continue to spread amongst middle class-buyers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Solar-powered Gaming Systems:** The concept of solar-powered gaming systems like the Sony Eclipse presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the gaming industry. - **Sustainability in Gaming:** The growing interest in sustainable gaming concepts opens up avenues for disruptive innovation in the gaming industry. - **Unconventional Use of Solar Power:** The utilization of solar power in unconventional ways, such as powering gaming systems, paves the way for disruptive innovation in the renewable energy industry. ### Where This Applies - **Gaming:** The development of solar-powered gaming systems like the Sony Eclipse presents disruptive innovation opportunities within the gaming industry. - **Renewable Energy:** The use of solar power in unconventional applications, like powering gaming systems, offers disruptive innovation opportunities within the renewable energy industry. - **Middle Class Buyers:** The increasing popularity of sustainable gaming concepts appeals to middle class buyers, creating disruptive innovation opportunities for companies targeting this market segment. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Powerful Portable Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-5-handheld-gaming-console.md) - [Industrial Translucent Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-game-controller.md) - [3D Display Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uplight-game-console.md) - [Minimalist Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-6-concept.md) - [Angular Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-6-concept.md) - [Customizable Mobile Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handheld-gaming-console-concept.md) - [Sliding Gamer Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-playstation-xperia-smartphone.md) - [Handheld Gaming Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playfusion.md) - [Industrial Next-Gen Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-6-console-concept.md)
