Built with a [modern L-shape floorplan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lj-residence), the home wraps around a poolside terrace to run parallel with the ridge. The interior features a large living area that is fitted with four garage-style doors that open completely. The concrete flooring runs throughout the entire home and out onto the patio creating a seamless indoor/outdoor living space. Using a palette of natural materials to complement the scenery, the Sonoma Wine Country house has a rustic yet contemporary retreat style on the inside to contrast the minimal exterior finishes for an overall luxuriously modern aesthetic. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Seamless Indoor/outdoor Living:** Designing homes with garage-style doors that open completely to create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces. - **Rustic-contemporary Aesthetic:** Blending rustic and contemporary design elements to create a luxurious modern aesthetic in homes. - **Natural Materials Palette:** Using natural materials to complement the surrounding scenery in home design. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to incorporate garage-style doors and seamless indoor/outdoor living concepts in residential designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to create luxurious modern aesthetics using a blend of rustic and contemporary elements. - **Construction:** Opportunity for construction companies to work with natural materials and create homes that blend into the surrounding landscape. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Holiday Modern Hilltop Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phoenix.md) - [Hilltop Modern Rural Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-country-lookout.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Chilean Hillside Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-three-heights.md) - [Cozy Smart Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonoma.md) - [Rural Charred Modern Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stanfordville-house.md) - [Perched Grassy Hillside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meadow-house.md) - [Hilltop Modern Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cloud-house.md) - [Farm-Inspired Cedar-Clad Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diamond-adu.md)
