# Bunny Birdfeeders The Songbird Rabbit Gradually Goes to Seed as Sparrows Pick Away By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-05-25 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/songbird References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/48087/) & [jruiter](http://www.jruiter.com/entry/songbird-fantasy-feeder/) The Songbird bird feeder is a bit of a joke at the expense of your feathered friends, setting them up to peck away the life-size form of a bunny rabbit. Joey Ruiter has designed this surprising deck object with molded birdseed and the rodent's skeleton of stainless steel as a lighthearted reorganization of the relationships of plant-eating critters. Made without a hanger, the Songbird is designed to be set down on a flat surface, making it all the more likely to become prey to squirrels and other larger larger mammals. The resultant scenario is an interesting one, enabling you to witness the gradual devouring of the adorable long-eared animal by his bushy-tailed mate. Eventually, all that will remain of the Songbird is the spindly structure of the seedy Leporidae creature. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Birdfeeders:** Opportunity for bird feeders that engage and interact with birds in unique ways, such as the Songbird rabbit design. - **Humorous Wildlife Products:** Opportunity for lighthearted and playful products that reimagine the relationships between different animals, like the Bunny Birdfeeder. - **Sustainability in Gardening:** Opportunity to incorporate sustainable materials, like stainless steel, in garden products such as the Songbird Bunny Birdfeeder. ### Who This Affects Most - **Gardening:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for garden product manufacturers to create unique and interactive bird feeders that add humor to outdoor spaces. - **Pet Industry:** Opportunity for the pet industry to expand into outdoor products, such as playful bird feeders like the Songbird Bunny Birdfeeder. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to offer quirky and conversation-starting accessories, like the Bunny Birdfeeder, that add personality to outdoor spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dual-Function Play Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birddy.md) - [Uniquely-Shaped Animal Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-camper-mesh-bird-feeder.md) - [Squirrel-Resistant Smart Bird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdkiss-s1.md) - [Sustainable Bird House Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-bird.md) - [Targeted Bird Seed Blends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cool-birds.md) - [Highly Functional Bird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-bird.md) - [Smart Hummingbird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hummingbird-feeder.md) - [Bird-Inspired Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdinspired-speaker.md) - [Bird-Inspired Earbud Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tweettunes.md)
