The solar-powered rail line is powered by approximately 100 solar panels, that divert energy to a train track located near Aldershot in Hampshire. The people behind the initiative indicate that sustainable energy could provide power to 20% of the Railway system in Liverpool, as well as 15% of the power in Kent, Sussex, and Wessex. The success of this project could result in the future adoption of similar technology.
