While drones are useful for performing tasks such as the [delivery of goods to rural areas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-supply-deliveries), the issue of charging these devices is somewhat complicated. These new drones are powered by the energy of the sun, making them a more viable option for places that have limited access to electricity. In order to makes drones more accessible to rural communities, Mobisol is combining its micro-solar arrays with a series of charging stations for [delivery drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-flycart-100). By integrating existing customers into the drone-charging network, the company is able to work around a lack of existing infrastructure. This means that communities in countries such as Rwanda and Tanzania will have access to sustainable, [carbon-free deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargo-glider). The solar-powered drones demonstrate how renewable energy can be used to make drones work for different communities. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Transportation](https://www.trendhunter.com/transportation) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Solar-powered Drones:** Using solar-powered drones to overcome infrastructural deficits in rural regions. - **Micro-solar Arrays:** Integrating micro-solar arrays with charging stations for delivery drones, making them more accessible to rural communities. - **Renewable Energy:** Demonstrating how renewable energy can be used to make drones work for different communities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Delivery:** Using solar-powered drones for delivery, especially to rural regions with limited access to electricity. - **Renewable Energy:** Application of renewable energy in the field of drone technology for delivery purposes. - **Infrastructure:** Overcoming infrastructural deficits in rural regions by using solar-powered drones. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Power-Beaming Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-recharging-system.md) - [Solar-Powered Cargo Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-cargo-bike.md) - [Solar Panel Cleaning Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-panel-cleaning-system.md) - [Streamlined Drone Delivery Networks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drone-delivery-network.md) - [Autonomous VTOL Cargo Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vtol-cargo-drone.md) - [Temperature-Resistant Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperatureresistant-delivery-drones.md) - [Intercity Cargo Delivery Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-express.md) - [Solar-Powered Sleek Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-solaris.md) - [Solar-Powered Refrigerated Shipping Trucks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birds-eye-shipping-trucks.md)
