This innovative DIY creation is the work of Terry Hope, a self-taught [solar electric bicycle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-race-vehicle) builder. He began with a standard hybrid pushbike as the base of his project, upon which he's installed a total of eight [photovoltaic panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eo-canopy) over the handlebars and behind the seat. While the solar cells do stick out quite a bit, they're sufficiently lightweight to give the design real potential.
