# Robotic Solar Reflectors The ‘SunnyBot’ Solar Tracker Lights Up Objects Using Natural By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-06-27 | Updated 2013-07-09 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tracker References: [treehugger](http://www.treehugger.com/solar-technology/sunnybot-tracks-sun-light-and-heat-your-home.html) & [kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/divatommei/sunnybot-send-sunshine-wherever-you-want) The ‘SunnyBot’ solar tracker is a robot that projects natural light onto a target. SunnyBot tracks the movement of the sun throughout the sky and directs sunlight onto an object. It works just like a task light but it doesn’t need to be plugged in and emits a warm, natural glow onto objects instead of using artificial light. Natural light has the inherent ability to reduce humidity, mold, kill rogue bacteria and as a result, reduce unpleasant odors in the home. As well, natural light is extremely mood-lifting, especially for people who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder when there is a lack of sunlight in the winter months. Although this [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/werobot-pino-lamp) project won’t be able to provide as much light in the winter, this solar tracker still brings warmth indoors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Solar Tracking Technology:** Opportunity to develop more advanced solar tracking systems that maximize the use of natural light for various applications. - **Natural Light Therapy:** Potential for creating innovative solutions that utilize natural light to improve indoor environments and enhance people's well-being. - **Robotic Lighting Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to develop autonomous robots that provide targeted natural lighting without the need for electricity or artificial light sources. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can explore the integration of solar tracking technology for enhanced energy efficiency and reduced reliance on artificial lighting. - **Health and Wellness:** Health and wellness industry can capitalize on natural light therapy solutions to offer products and services that improve mental health and enhance well-being. - **Smart Home Technology:** Opportunity for the smart home technology industry to incorporate robotic lighting solutions for energy-efficient and customizable lighting systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sunlight-Mimicking Panelled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunne-lamp.md) - [Sunlight-Imitating Indoor Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunbooster.md) - [Sun-Mimicking Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunled-sunbooster.md) - [Solar-Powered Charging Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-mars-bot.md) - [Sunlight-Evoking Plant Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/equinox-light.md) - [Off-Grid Solar Energy Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-solar-tracker.md) - [Biology-First Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skyview.md) - [Sunlight Tracking Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunseek.md) - [Solar-Powered Robotic Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunscout-pro-robot-lawnmower.md)
