# Unfurlable Solar Panel Systems The Rapid Roll Solar PV Design Allows Flexible Panel Installation By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2017-10-06 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-panel-systems References: [newatlas](http://newatlas.com/roll-out-solar-panels-welsh-island/51612/) & [cardiffnewsroom](http://www.cardiffnewsroom.co.uk/releases/c/16435.html) Solar panel systems are becoming an increasingly popular way for municipalities and governments to take advantage of the sun as a natural and clean source of energy, which is why the Cardiff Council in Wales is quite literally rolling out a new solar panel technology that allows for carpet-like installation. The aptly named Rapid Roll Solar PV system comprises [flexible solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photovoltaic-system1) that can be rolled out much like a carpet, allowing them to be transferred from a compact, rolled-up form onto flat surfaces that allow them to maximize sunlight exposure and intake. By making the [installation of solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voltage-energy-group) easier, this carpet-inspired solar panel system is designed for efficient and economical deployment, making it easier for cash-strapped economies to take advantage of solar power. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Flexible Solar Panel Systems:** The trend of flexible solar panel systems allows for easy and efficient installation on various surfaces. - **Carpet-inspired Solar Panel Technology:** The carpet-like solar panel technology is disrupting traditional installation methods by providing a more compact and convenient solution. - **Efficient and Economical Solar Power Deployment:** The trend of efficient and economical solar power deployment is enabling cash-strapped economies to harness the benefits of solar energy. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can benefit from the development of flexible solar panel systems, as they offer more versatile and cost-effective installation options. - **Construction and Infrastructure:** The construction and infrastructure industry can explore the use of carpet-inspired solar panel technology for integrating renewable energy systems in buildings and infrastructure projects. - **Government and Municipalities:** Government bodies and municipalities can utilize the trend of efficient and economical solar power deployment to transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levante-origami-solar-panel.md) - [Consolidated Photovoltaic Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photovoltaic-systems.md) - [Origami-Inspired Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sego-innovations.md) - [Efficient Scalable Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perovskia-solar.md) - [Solar Panel Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tapestry.md) - [User-Friendly Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-energy.md) - [Heritage Building-Blending Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-solar.md) - [Ultra-Thin Solar Panel Coatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-panel-2.md) - [Solar-Powered Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-blanket.md)
