Watching soil does not seem like it would be an interesting thing to do, but Josh Williams has made it a hobby for himself and others with the use of a soil camera.

The blogger uses a waterproof scanner that he controls with 'Raspberry Pi' to look at what movements and processes look like under soil. After burying the camera for a determined amount of time, the artist reveals interesting footage of what goes on underground. Everything from [roots growing in the soil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treesoil) to plants decomposing to [worms and centipedes moving around](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vermicomposter) looks surprisingly fascinating, especially with the quick pace of the videos.

These underground soil camera videos show a hidden world that most people do not often see and provide insights into how plants grow and the decomposition process.
