With the assistance of the Rebar studio, Nell Waters is proposing an eco-friendly spa complex for San Francisco that uses renewable resources in a very efficient and fabulous way. First of all, the very building would be constructed from [stacked cargo containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upcycled-sauna) that are no longer needed for the shipping industry. They would enable the possibility of [prefabricated pop-up health clubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefabricated-pods) around the city. Every SOAK Urban Bathhouse would be enhanced with cutting-edge facilities for rainwater collection, filtration and [solar heating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermasol) to supply the pools with warm and clean liquid. Grey water would also be recycled to keep the surrounding landscape hydrated and healthy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Shipping Container Architecture:** Exploiting the versatility of shipping containers to create innovative and sustainable spaces, such as spas. - **Eco-friendly Spa Concepts:** Developing environmentally-friendly spa designs and practices that prioritize sustainability and efficiency. - **Sustainable Water Management:** Implementing innovative strategies for collecting, filtering, and recycling water in various industries, including spa complexes. ### Where This Applies - **Hospitality:** Leveraging shipping container architecture to create unique and eco-friendly spa experiences. - **Architecture & Construction:** Exploring the potential of using repurposed shipping containers for building sustainable structures, such as spa complexes. - **Sustainability Consulting:** Providing expertise in developing sustainable water management systems for spa complexes and other industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Public Bathhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/round-about-baths.md) - [Modern Mobile Sauna Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquila-sauna.md) - [Tranquil Grounded Design Bathhouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/othership-location.md) - [Ocean-Centric Portable Jacuzzis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacuzzi.md) - [Portable Luxury Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermowood-minicube-sauna.md) - [Hammam-Inspired Sauna Cubicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/logica-plus.md) - [Beer-Filled Bath Spas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bath-barley-spa.md) - [Comprehensive Spa Wellness Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spa-wellness-experience.md) - [Spa-Inspired Outdoor Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/redwood-outdoors.md)
