A cute, quirky addition to any living space, it actually functions both as a [carpet and a light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buzzishroom). Designed by Bina Baitel, the Snug Rug Lamp looks as though the [lamp simply melted](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-lamp) and spread across the expanse of a living room floor. Part of an exhibition, I'm sure someone or company will put this amazing design into production sooner rather than later. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **MELTED LIGHTING:** The integration of lighting elements with everyday objects offers opportunities for creating unique and functional designs. - **HOME DECOR:** The fusion of different home decor items allows for the creation of innovative and multi-purpose products. - **EXHIBITION DESIGNS:** Exploring unconventional and artistic designs in exhibitions opens up possibilities for commercializing unique concepts. ### Where This Applies - **INTERIOR DESIGN:** Incorporating lighting elements into carpets and other home decor products can create disruptive innovations in the interior design industry. - **LIGHTING:** The convergence of lighting technology with other objects presents opportunities for disruptive innovations in the lighting industry. - **ART AND DESIGN:** Art and design exhibitions can inspire disruptive innovation in various industries, including home decor and lighting. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Luxe Candle-Melting Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infra-luna-20.md) - [Soft Comfort Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-lamp.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Desert-Inspired Floor Coverings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-rug.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md)
