The Snot-A-Mug Egg Separator works by the user cracking the egg into the opening on the top and tipping the container slightly to allow the yolk to slip out of the [nostrils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasal-care-products) of the bottle. Totally gross, the Snot-A-Mug Egg Separator may turn yolks into snot, but the device seems to work great. It works on the basic principle that the yolk is too big to fit through the nostril, so only the necessary whites will come out. Although it might be a bit of [gross humour](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boogie-bites-candy), a seasoned chef will likely come to appreciate the Snot-A-Mug Egg Separator for both it's looks and function. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Gross Kitchen Gadgets:** The success of the Snot-a-Mug Egg Separator demonstrates market potential for other quirky and funny kitchen gadgets that serve a specific purpose. - **Humorous Food Preparation Tools:** The popularity of the Snot-a-Mug Egg Separator suggests a demand for food prep tools that add an element of fun or entertainment to the kitchen experience. - **Functional Joke Gadgets:** The Snot-a-Mug Egg Separator can be seen as a functional and practical joke gadget - a possible trend for future products that add humor and function together. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Kitchenware and Cookware:** Kitchenware and cookware companies could consider producing more playful, yet functional, products that appeal to consumers who seek out humor and entertainment in the kitchen. - **Gag Gifts and Novelties:** Gag gifts and novelty companies could expand their product lines to include functional products, such as kitchen gadgets like the Snot-a-Mug Egg Separator, that appeal to specific markets. - **Kitchen and Cooking Education:** Kitchen and cooking education providers could incorporate fun and humor into their course materials, and utilize humorous kitchen gadgets like the Snot-a-Mug Egg Separator to engage their students. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Quirky Fungi Kitchenwares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mushroom-funnel.md) - [User-Friendly Egg Cookers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggbath.md) - [Vampire-Inspired Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garlic-crusher.md) - [Runny Vegan Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runny-plant-based-eggs.md) - [Egg-Based Snack Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muffin-maker.md) - [Runny Plant-Based Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neggst-vegan-eggs.md) - [Eco-Friendly Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cool-guy-fridge-deodorizer.md) - [STEAM Children’s Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gross-science-kit.md) - [Booger-Inspired Immune Gummies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boogie-bites-candy.md)
