That’s why we waited. And now, three – yes three – snakes have been spotted. It turned out to be a [yellow rat snake](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tokio-cazador), which are non-venomous. Thank goodness. And finally: today at 8:30am, an innocent passerby stumbled upon a four-foot boa constrictor across from Central Park in Harlem. Really, where are they all coming from? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [World News](https://www.trendhunter.com/worldnews) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Urban Wildlife Migration:** Increasing sightings of wildlife in urban areas pose disruptions and safety threats and provide opportunities for companies developing smart pest management solutions and green urban planning techniques. - **Pet Snake Ownership Trend:** Growing trend in pet snake ownership presents opportunities for businesses such as pet stores, snake breeders, and veterinary clinics offering specialized services for snakes. - **Public Safety Technologies:** Rising concerns about public safety foster opportunities for technologies such as AI-powered outdoor surveillance systems, drone patrolling systems, and mobile emergency alerts services. ### Where This Applies - **Pest Control Industry:** Increasing sightings of wildlife in cities open up opportunities for pest control companies to partner with cities and offer smart pest management solutions. - **Pet Industry:** Growing trend in pet snake ownership presents opportunities for pet stores, snake breeders, and veterinary clinics offering specialized services for snakes. - **Public Safety Industry:** Rising concerns about public safety foster opportunities for companies developing surveillance technologies such as AI-powered outdoor surveillance systems, drone patrolling systems, and mobile emergency alerts services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Snake-Inspired Pizza Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snake-ring-pizza.md) - [Zodiac-Inspired Coffee Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-year-mug-snake.md) - [Slithering Serpent Floor Coverings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lorien-stern-snakes-rugs.md) - [Stylish Snakeskin Sneakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/python-sambas.md) - [Snake-Resembling Sculptural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chuzhi.md) - [Lunar New Year Sneakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/year-of-the-snake-sneakers.md) - [Snake-Inspired Textural Clogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tokio-cazador.md) - [Animal-Inspired Patterned Footwear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snakeskin-colorway-2.md) - [Vibrant Snake Graphic Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snakes-in-the-grass.md)
