# Sweet Sluggish Clothes Pegs These Snail Hooks Grip the Wall for an Unending Upwards Traverse By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-09-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snail-hooks References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/50051/) & [huset-shop](http://www.huset-shop.com/snail-hook-by-ingibjcrg-hanna-p-2860.html) Challenging gravity like their living counterparts do, these Snail Hooks appear to be ascending the wall amidst a journey that will -- in this case -- never be completed. Made from concrete, these lovely little insectile fixtures are anchored to your drywall or brick to act as solid pegs for the suspension of your possessions. At 11 centimeters long, these iconic items don't simply blend in the way that the teeny-tiny real ones do. Big, bulbous and smooth with their necks and heads extended, they become decorations in addition to practical interior pieces. Designed by Ingibjorg Hanna Bjarnadottir, these Snail Hooks would be at home in front foyers, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. They're ideal for [hanging scarves, hats, jewelry, towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-hanger) and so much more. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Decorative Functional Fixtures:** Creating fixtures that serve a practical purpose while also adding aesthetic value to interior spaces. - **Gravity-defying Design:** Developing products that challenge traditional notions of gravity and create visual interest. - **Insect-inspired Home Accessories:** Exploring design inspiration from the natural world, specifically insects, for unique and eye-catching home accessories. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Innovating in the home decor industry by combining functionality with decorative elements. - **Interior Design:** Providing interior designers with unique and visually engaging fixtures to enhance their clients' spaces. - **Fashion and Accessories:** Introducing insect-inspired accessories that add a touch of whimsy and uniqueness to outfits. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smiley Clothing Wall Hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/itsahook.md) - [Quirky Structural Clothes Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hang-we.md) - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Hardware-Free Towel Hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adhesive-towel-hooks.md) - [Rotating Punctuation Mark Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotion-hanger.md) - [Jewelry-Like Handbag Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-hook-options.md) - [Whimsical Ceramic Shower Hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-shower-hook.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Bright Whimsical Home Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-balcony.md)
