# Automated Toilet Seat Closers The 'SmartNūdge' Automatically Readies Itself for the Next User By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2018-12-08 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartndge References: [coolthings](https://www.coolthings.com/smartnudge-toilet-seat-closer/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1490717519/smartnudge-save-your-relationship-one-nudge-at-a-t/) The 'SmartNūdge' has been engineered as a solution for the bathroom that will automatically ready it for the next user in case the previous one forgets to do so. The device works by being attached onto the [toilet lid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bidet-toilet-seat1) and automatically lowering the seat after it has been used by someone to prevent the next user from needing to manually lower it themselves. This helps to remedy the common problem between men and women where the former will leave the [toilet seat up](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-urinal-design) only to have the latter fall in when going to use the facilities. The 'SmartNūdge' works on a timer to automatically drop the toilet seat in 90 seconds after being lifted into place to ensure it's ready for use almost immediately afterwards. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Automated Toilet Seat Closers:** Automated toilet seat closers are revolutionizing bathroom experience by automatically lowering the seat after use, eliminating the need for manual adjustment. - **Bathroom Automation:** Bathroom automation trends focus on creating convenient and hygienic experiences, offering opportunities for technology-driven solutions. - **Gender-specific Bathroom Solutions:** Innovative bathroom products specifically designed to address gender-specific issues like toilet seat adjustments are gaining traction in the market. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Smart Home Technology:** The rise of automated toilet seat closers presents growth opportunities for the smart home technology industry, tapping into the demand for convenient and efficient home solutions. - **Bathroom Fixtures:** The bathroom fixtures industry can explore innovative products like automated toilet seat closers to enhance user experience and differentiate their offerings in the market. - **Personal Hygiene Products:** Efforts to address hygiene-related concerns in bathrooms create opportunities for personal hygiene product manufacturers to develop automated solutions like toilet seat closers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hygienic Auto-Flushing Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/close-the-lid-toilet.md) - [Feature-Packed Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neolet.md) - [Automated Maintenance Toilet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icleaningo-bidet-toilet-seat-dc02.md) - [Bathroom Privacy Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-privacy.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md) - [Self-Flushing Smart Cat Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-cat-toilet.md) - [Futuristic Intelligent Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-toilet.md) - [Patented Toilet Bidet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bidet-seat.md) - [Health Tracker Toilet Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-one.md)
