The mug is powered by Smartgrip Technology, which allows you to lift the mug up off your desk when you want to take a sip, but still prevents it from being tipped over accidentally and spilling on your work. The Smartgrip creates an airlock once placed down to keep it secure from tipping over, but still releases easily when you lift your mug up vertically to take a sip. It lifts up completely naturally and doesn't require extra effort In that sense, Mighty Mug doesn't use [suction or magnets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magsafe-suction-grip), but a simple airlock that makes it more secure without making it more difficult to use. The mug can grip to desks, tables and other flat solid surfaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Smartgrip Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new applications for Smartgrip Technology in industries such as kitchenware and automotive accessories. - **Untippable Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new untippable products for industries like childcare and outdoor dining to prevent spills and accidents. - **Simple Airlock Mechanism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply the concept of a simple airlock mechanism to industries such as aerospace and marine for improved safety and stability. ### Where This Applies - **Kitchenware:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative kitchenware products using the Smartgrip Technology, such as untippable pots and pans. - **Automotive Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design untippable cup holders and phone mounts for cars using the Smartgrip Technology. - **Childcare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create untippable bottles and sippy cups for toddlers to prevent spills and promote self-feeding. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Magnetic Battery Heated Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-coffee-mug.md) - [Coffee-Cooling Travel Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beverage-tumbler.md) - [Handle-Free Coffee Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinch-hold.md) - [Smart Temperature Control Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-temperature-control-technology.md) - [App-Controlled Coffee Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/greatic.md) - [Sensor-Packed Smart Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextmug.md) - [Utensil Holding Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1handmug.md) - [Temperature Control Smart Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temperature-control-smart-mug.md) - [App-Connected Heated Mugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cera-smart-mug-2.md)
