Elan Ski's proposed the performance-enhancing SLX [Fusion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-crumble-frosty-fusion) model -- a sensor smart ski that captures data from the run and uses it to coach the consumer to be a better athlete. The relevant information includes skier's dynamics like "precise weight flex and balance distribution." With each curve, the smart ski-integrated sensors store and analyze the data for later reference. Elan ski's idea is that the smart ski technology can serve as a self-coach and to be an accessible way for winter sports enthusiast to evaluate style weaknesses and improve technique in a budget-friendly manner. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Ski Technology:** The integration of sensors in skis that capture data to enhance performance and provide coaching opportunities. - **Data-driven Coaching:** Using the data collected from smart skis to provide personalized coaching and feedback to athletes. - **Affordable Performance Enhancement:** Making performance-enhancing technology accessible and budget-friendly for winter sports enthusiasts. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Winter Sports:** The ski industry can leverage smart ski technology to offer innovative products that enhance performance and improve the skiing experience. - **Sports Technology:** Companies in the sports technology industry can develop and market sensor-based products for various sports, including skiing, that help athletes improve their skills. - **Fitness and Wellness:** The fitness and wellness industry can incorporate smart ski technology into their offerings to provide personalized coaching and performance tracking for winter sports enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Performance-Tracking Skate Sensors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hockey-skate-sensors.md) - [Data-Driven Exercise Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-somatosensory-slide-board.md) - [Connected Snow Sport Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rekkie-smart-snow-goggles.md) - [Folding Travel-Friendly Winter Skis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-skis.md) - [AR-Enabled Ski Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ar-goggles.md) - [All Terrain Electric Skis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skwheel-one.md) - [High-Performance Carbon Ski Boots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hispeed-boot.md) - [Motorized Skier Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eskimo.md) - [Off-Course Skier Support Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skiavec.md)
