The desk works by being set up for use like a conventional workstation and will automatically go to work providing users with a customizable way to continuously stay moving throughout the day. The desk will automatically alert the user when it's about to move from sitting to standing position or vice-versa and will switch back after a certain period of time. The Ergonomyx Smart Sit-and-Stand Desk allows users to customize the functionality to suit their needs or preferences, which will help them to achieve their choice of activity level when working. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Smart Sit-and-stand Desks:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced AI technology to further personalize and optimize the functionality of sit-and-stand desks for users. - **Automated Workstations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create automated workstations that can adjust not just the desk height, but also the positioning and angle of other work tools for enhanced ergonomics. - **App-connected Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design smart furniture systems that are seamlessly integrated with smartphone apps for intuitive control, customization, and data tracking. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Office Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and automated office furniture solutions that prioritize user comfort, health, and productivity. - **Smart Home:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine smart home technology with ergonomic furniture to create integrated living and workspaces that adapt to individuals' needs. - **Artificial Intelligence:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Leverage AI capabilities to enhance the automation, personalization, and optimization of furniture for improved user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Schedule Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-smartdesk-connect.md) - [Voice Assistant Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomyx-smart-desk-20.md) - [Adjustable Laptop Desk Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitstand-desk1.md) - [Ergonomic Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-standing-desks.md) - [Gesture Control Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autonomous-smartdesk-levitate.md) - [Wirelessly Adjustable Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chakram-heightadjustable-standing-desk.md) - [Motorized Cable-Hiding Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steno-sitandstand-work-desk.md) - [Mechanical Motor-Free Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-desk-concept.md) - [App-Connected Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adjustable-smart-desk.md)
